Our brass department is capable of addressing all your repair needs, anything from routine maintenance to a complete mechanical overhaul. The technicians in this department are players as well as being technicians. This gives them an advantage when it comes to understanding your repair problem and working with you to solve it.

CHEM CLEAN - Instrument is disassembled and ultrasonically or chemically cleaned. Instrument is then reassembled, replacing springs, corks, and felts as needed. In addition the instrument is lubed, adjusted, and played by a qualified technician..

SILVER CLEAN - (Silver instruments only) - Same procedure as CHEM CLEAN with the addition of a complete hand polishing with tarnish-resistant silver polish.

MECHANICAL OVERHAUL - Instrument is completely disassembled and ultrasonically or chemically cleaned. Dents are removed. Branches on large instruments are unsoldered as needed to allow dent removal. Instrument is then reassembled, repairing or replacing any damaged braces. Final assembly includes new springs, corks, and felts. Instrument is then lubed, adjusted and played by a qualified technician.

COMPLETE REFINISH - Same procedure as MECHANICAL OVERHAUL. In addition, old lacquer is removed, instrument is polished to a high luster and provided with a lacquer or plated finish. Priced by consultation only.
